Fivetran Activations
Reverse ETL product (formerly Census) that moves transformed warehouse data back into business applications like Salesforce and Braze to operationalize insights.
Product Description
Overview
Fivetran Activations is Fivetran's reverse ETL capability, originating from Fivetran's acquisition of Census. Where the core platform moves data from business applications into a warehouse, Activations moves it in the opposite direction — syncing enriched, transformed warehouse data back out into the operational tools sales, marketing, and support teams actually use day to day, so insights generated in the warehouse become actionable without manual exports.
Highlights
Organized around "Activations," each a defined set of Activation Syncs that map data from specific warehouse tables to objects in a specific destination application (for example, all syncs from Snowflake to Salesforce constitute one Activation); billed independently from data movement, priced on its own Monthly Active Rows curve with a separate cost trajectory that declines as usage scales; each new Activation includes a 14-day free trial before billing begins; customers only pay for the data actually activated each month, rather than a flat platform fee; commonly used to sync computed audiences, lead scores, or customer health metrics from the warehouse into tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Braze.
Supported Cloud Infrastructure
Reads from the customer's existing warehouse destination (Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, or Databricks, all AWS-hosted) and writes out to business application destinations over the public internet or Fivetran-managed connections.
