VM-Series Next-Generation Firewall (BYOL and ELA)
Next-Generation Firewall from Palo Alto Networks
ExploreProduct Description
In this free, guided 1-hour lab, you’ll learn how to deploy the VM-Series firewall, configure security policies, and safeguard your workloads against threats.
The VM-Series next-generation firewall enables developers and cloud security architects to integrate inline threat and data loss prevention directly into their application workflows. It protects server-based and containerized applications and data using whitelisting and segmentation policies, which can be dynamically updated based on tags. This helps reduce the attack surface, ensure compliance, and block cyberattacks and data exfiltration. This lab uses GCP Marketplace template version 1.1.0 (updated March 2024).
VM-Series on GCP Key Highlights:
Supports common deployment scenarios such as protecting outbound traffic from containerized and server-based workloads, securing hybrid architectures via IPSec VPN or Interconnect Cloud, and preventing lateral (east-west) threat movement.
Internal firewall metrics can be published to Google Stackdriver, allowing monitoring of capacity and performance alongside other GCP resources.
Integration with GCP Load Balancing provides managed scaling for Internet-facing applications, and Shared Services VPC support offers cost-effective protection for large deployments.
Resources for deployment, reference architectures, and step-by-step guides are available in “Getting Started with VM-Series on GCP.”
The BYOL option lets you select VM-Series licenses, Security Subscriptions, and Support plans that meet your needs, and it also supports Enterprise License Agreements (ELA).
